Jennifer Carlson is an Associate Professor in the School of Sociology and the School of Government & Public Policy. Her research examines gun culture, policing and public law enforcement, and violence. She is the author of Citizen-Protectors: The Everyday Politics of Guns in an Age of Decline (Oxford University Press). Her award-winning research has been featured in a variety of outlets across the political spectrum, including The New Yorker, Reason Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, The National Review, The Christian Science Monitor, and elsewhere.
