Megan Siquieros

Tohono O’odham Tradition Bearers

Megan Siquieros is an enrolled member of the Tohono O'odham Nation. She grew up in the village of Covered Wells, located in the Gu Achi District. Megan comes from a long line of basketweavers, being in her families 4th generation of weavers. She is also a traditional singer, leaning directly from her mother and singing alongside her aunts. Upon acceptance to Tucson's Salpointe Catholic High School, Megan and her parents moved into the city. She graduated in 2005 and began college courses at Pima Community College before transferring to the University of Arizona. In 2010, Megan started work with a local public relations and communications firm, Strategic Issues Management Group, Inc. As a part of the company she was afforded the opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of areas - social media consultation, event planning, campaign management and photography.
